Over the past year, The Center for Primary Care Medicine (CPCM) has been holding group sessions for patients who participate in the medicinal cannabis program (MMP). Sessions are being held on our virtual platform. We have been grouping patients with similar disease states such as migraine headaches, PTSD, failed back syndrome, post traumatic brain injury, and connective tissue diseases.

We have received incredibly positive feedback from our patients who have participated in these group sessions, as they strongly feel a common bond. Some patients comment that only people who have suffered through similar experiences are able to understand what they are going through in their day to day life. Sharing common experiences has been very therapeutic toward the healing process. The group is facilitated by either Dr. Shaffer or his physician assistant.

Patients will discuss various dosing and strain of the cannabis used and how various preparations may be helpful. They also identify which strains are most beneficial in treating their specific conditions. Aside from the sense of comradery within this community, the sharing of this information is highly valued.

We look forward to the hopeful return of live group sessions. If you are interested in participating in one of our groups, please let your care provider know and contact our receptionist.
